First day jitters and smiles for Grade 1s

Grade 1s at Constantia Kloof Primary take their first step into their new classrooms.

The excitement was palpable at Constantia Kloof Primary School as the Grade One learners took their first big step into big school on January 13.

Deputy principal Janine Fleetwood proudly welcomed the new intake with open arms, ensuring a smooth transition into the school routine. As the parents and their little ones waited outside the classrooms, pictures were taken as they said their goodbyes and made sure their learners were settled into their classrooms.

For many of the parents, the first day of school was an emotional experience, marking a significant milestone in their child’s life.

“It’s amazing how fast they grow up; to see them so excited to start their first day is emotional for most parents but a joy to our teachers to start teaching them,” said Janine.

The upcoming bell-ringing ceremony will mark their introduction to the school. Every child, together with his or her parents, will pass under a white arch and ring the bell, signifying that they are now part of the Constantia Kloof Primary School family.
