Constantia’s first team levels up with new kits

Constantia Kloof's U13s receive their kits from a generous sponsor before their netball tour.

Constantia Kloof Primary School hosted a kit handover ceremony for its U13 netball team before they left for their netball tour that took place from March 7 – 9.

During this tour, the team developed their skills and teamwork and faced other teams before the start of their season matches.

Head of sport Avan van Dyk welcomed parents, the players, and staff with a wonderful prayer and a slideshow that was themed ‘lion mentality’ to send a message to the players before they head to their tour and embark on their last year as senior players.

Sponsor Galinco Risk Service generously donated the kit, which included a bag, a netball dress, a personalised warm-up jersey, a water bottle, and a cap.

Karen Bergsma, the principal of Constantia Kloof, praised the girls for their hard work leading up to the tour and called them to the stage to collect their kits and take photos.

“In 2023, our girls played against Laerskool Fairlands, the U12 netball team won gold at the South African Schools Netball tournament, and drew against them. That on its own shows the capabilities of these young ladies when motivated.

“This is the first time we will be receiving such a generous sponsor, and it means our teams are being recognised. This year we themed lion mentality to give our girls the push to know that they can get to that level as well,” Karen said.

Six out of the eight players are currently selected for the next round of district netball trials, and the school could not be prouder.
