What happened to a once beautiful Roodepoort?

When I’m paroled daily from self-imposed protective custody to toil, I have to manually open the gate to hell, because its motor was stolen.

Roland La Vey from Roodepoort writes:

I’ve experienced the dark side of Roodepoort. I know every septic nook and dangerous cranny. Having been in law enforcement for two decades augments my understanding of how a once beautiful and well-tamed beast with a soft underbelly, became a moronic monster infected with every rabid evil characteristic of classic third-world depreciation.

When I’m paroled daily from self-imposed protective custody to toil, I have to manually open the gate to hell, because its motor was stolen. I then find myself in the valley of the shadow of death. As I venture past the unholy city of Jerusalema the lump in my throat becomes a chocking fist, tears in my eyes turn to acid, and depression hits me like a hammer wielded by a demonic blacksmith.

I’m told that what has happened to Roodepoort is not a unique phenomenon. According to some village idiots, the great democratic revolution of 1994 turned a once prosperous kingdom into a barren wasteland governed by thieves and populated by fools. It transpired that those village idiots were wise men in disguise whose vehement warnings went unheeded. They have fled for their lives, because dare they share their sentiments pertaining to ye good olde days, they’ll be lynched for being proponents of another kind of evil – not lesser in any way.

Once upon a time … children safely played in the streets, law enforcement was a harsh reality, municipal service delivery was excellent, and candles were only used for romantic purposes. As a reasonably proficient scribe I lack literary capability and emotional constitution to illustrate in words the blasphemous abomination Roodepoort has become.
