Financial constraints, deaths and fears of contracting the Covid-19 pandemic best sums up the awful year it has been.
As if the recession wasn’t enough to hamper civilians’ livelihoods, Covid-19 added salt to the wounds by causing many to lose their jobs and valuables.
I can safely say, with all thanks to the Most High, I’m one of the few who managed to survive this disastrous year – from managing to save my job to having all my family members and friends still breathing from their flesh.
To those who lost loved ones, I convey my deepest condolences to you. This pandemic could have ripped anyone’s soul out in the manner it spiraled out of control. With reports of a second wave, I urge people to continue playing their part by adhering to Covid-19 regulations as this is by far the only way to defeat this scourge.
To those who lost their jobs due to retrenchment, dust off your qualifications because 2021 is around the corner and it promises better opportunities.
Besides staying cautious during this much-needed Christmas break, remember to have a little bit of fun with your loved ones. Utilise this period to offload your problems with some entertainment, good food and pleasurable family bonds. As of next year, you should be refreshed and motivated to kick-start the year with a bang from planning your short-term to long-term goals.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you!
