Let us help you to remember those who lost the Covid-19 battle

With the second Covid-19 wave crashing in, the stats have become names and faces we all know, that is why we want to pay tribute to those who have sadly lost their lives due to the virus.

It has almost been a year since South Africa recorded its first case of the (then) new strain of the coronavirus, Covid-19, and, even though we have managed to ride out the first wave relatively unscathed, the same can unfortunately not be said about the second wave of infections.

The second wave of the pandemic came crashing in, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. There was not only an increase in our daily positive cases, but the daily number of deaths as well; resulting in the statistics changing from numbers to names and faces of friends and family members.

We have all been impacted by this pandemic, and many families have been left to mourn the loss of a loved one. We at Caxton Joburg West would love to help these families to honour their loved ones or friends in our publications.

If you have lost a family member, loved one or friend due to Covid-19, send us a tribute (not more than 200 words) as well as a photo of the person to adeleb@caxton.co.za, which will then be published on our website as well as in our newspapers.

There is a saying, ‘Shared grief is sorrow halved’, and, by sharing the story of your family member, loved one or friend, you will ensure that his or her life will be celebrated, and their memory immortalised.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
