Cyclist donates bicycle worth R2 400 to Afrika Tikkun

Winner of draw does deed for those less fortunate.

Sport again has proven that it brings people together.

This after cyclist Andrew Jacobs from Victory Park and winner of the pre-entry lucky draw at this year’s 16th Wilro Lions Cycle Challenge, donated a brand-new bicycle to Afrika Tikkun. A thousand entrants participated in the lucky draw in which Andrew won the bicycle.

Afrika Tikkun is a non-profit organisation that provides education, health and social services to children, youth and their families through centres of excellence in South African Townships. Its aim is to empower communities to develop new generations of productive citizens.

The bike valued at R2 400 was sponsored by Sportsman’s Warehouse Princess Crossing and officially was handed to Jan Ledwaba – a passionate cyclist himself – from Afrika Tikkun on Friday 11 April.

Also sharing the moment were representatives from the Lions Club Wilro Park;,Sportsman’s Warehouse and Westgate Wheelers.
