Mokotjo open to Ajax move

Bafana player linked to top club in Netherlands?

South African international Kamohelo Mokotjo says he would welcome the opportunity to play alongside compatriot Thulani Serero at Ajax Amsterdam.

Having started his career with SuperSport United, he made it to the Netherlands in 2009 and turned out for Excelsior and Feyenoord before completing the switch to PEC Zwolle at the start of the 2013/14 season.

The 23-year-old had a great campaign with Dutch side, helping them to a Dutch Cup win over Ajax, and was one of the highly-rated midfielders in the Eredivisie.

As a result, rumours have surfaced regarding interest from bigger teams, including Ajax, and he says he will consider his options.

“There’s a lot of interest, but still nothing concrete,” Mokotjo told Soccer Central.

“Thulani and I know each other well and he has often asked me if I would come to Ajax.

“I have not heard from the club, but who would not want to play for Ajax? We could play well together.”

Despite their success in the cup, Zwolle ended in 11th place on the Eredivisie standings, while Ajax won their fourth straight league title.
