Chabangu to stay at Swallows

Swallows player to stay for another year.

Despite Moroka Swallows losing some of their key players in the off season, experienced midfielder Lerato Chabangu looks set to stay for another year.

The Dube Birds have lost Giorgi Nergadze who is likely to return to Europe while striker Edward Manqele looks as if he will sign for Kaizer Chiefs.

With Siyabonga Nomvete and Lefa Tsutsulupa now well into their thirties and not the players they were a few years back, Chabangu will be expected to lead the team.

News coming out of the Chabangu camp is that ‘Ace’ has had interest from other Absa Premiership teams, but despite this, he will stay at Swallows.

Chabangu began his career at University of Pretoria when they were in the lower divisions. He won a move to Mamelodi Sundowns and worked his way into the Bafana Bafana set up thereafter.

After a period where his career went stagnant following some off the field troubles and personal struggles, Swallows threw him a lifeline, and under former coach Gordon Igesund, his promising career was kick started once again.
