Masango expected at Chiefs preseason

"Player’s future is still a story yet to be told": Mandla's agent.

Mandla Masango is expected to report to Kaizer Chiefs’ preseason camp despite talk of him parting ways with the club for Moroka Swallows.

According to Soccer Laduma, the midfielder is expected to form part of a swap deal with the Birds that would see Levy Mokgothu head to Naturena for next season.

Masango is expected to give the deciding nod whether he will head across Soweto to Dobsvonville, and his agent Walter Mokoena says that the player’s future is still a story yet to be told.

“Mandla is a Chiefs player and he’s still got a year left to run on his contract. He’s expected at their preseason training when they begin next week,” said the player’s representative.

The 24-year-old struggled for game time last season, making just one starting appearance and three off the bench.

Masango has the unusual distinction of having scored on his debut for every national side he has represented. He made three appearances, scoring twice, for South Africa Under-17 before moving on to the Under-20 team.
