Panorama FC honours its players

The day featured exciting and fun activities for supporters and a football game between Panorama FC and Platinum Stars development teams.

Hard work and dedication paid off when the development players of Panorama Football Club were honoured with their end-of-year performance accolades on 4 November.

This recognised football academy, chaired by Michael Michael, who is also the club’s technical director, recently hosted its end of season prize-giving event, when players received their well-deserved medals and trophies in front of their parents and club supporters at the academy in Radiokop.

“This is the annual prize giving to celebrate the end of the full season which ends this month. This is also to give all the players their individual and team prizes,” said Michael at the ceremony.

The coaches and players had reason to celebrate the end of the season as Michael highlighted that all the academy league teams were placed in the top eight of the log.

Michael told Northsider that the club plays in the Gauteng development league, which is arguably the highest and most prestigious development league in the country. He added that the league involves participating against all Premier Soccer League (PSL) academy teams.

Michael, who was pleased by the overwhelming support, thanked both the former professional footballers and parents for having an impact on the children’s football careers. “One of our members, namely Matthew Booth, the former Bafana Bafana defender, has two sons in the club, and the former Orlando Pirates player Joseph Makhanya and former Bafana Bafana player Stanton Fredericks also support the club through their involvement,” Michael explained.

He further explained that the club has grown from strength to strength through the support of its increasing membership. “Panorama FC has been growing from strength to strength. We are a club with over 300 members at the moment,” said Michael, adding that the club has reached a milestone of 31 years of existence and hoped to keep growing for the next 30 years or so.
