Golden Drifters duo secure contracts with Swaziland Premier League side

Apendule, the most capped SAB League player and most capped captain in the SAB League joined the club in the 2019 season, while Smangaliso is the all-time SAB League top scorer in the club's history.

 

On Monday, October 18 Golden Drifters Football Club informed members of the public, its supporters and stakeholders of the new developments at the club.

Club President, Proud Shoko told the Northsider that the club was pleased to announce that two of their senior players have secured professional contracts with a Swaziland Premier League side for the upcoming season, with an option to extend at the end of the season.

Midfielder Apendule Khonto, 22, and striker Smangaliso Shabangu, 24, have been very influential in the club’s success in the past seasons.

Apendule, the most capped SAB League player and most capped captain in the SAB League joined the club in the 2019 season, while Smangaliso is the all-time SAB League top scorer in the club’s history.

“We wish the two lads the best of luck as they begin their professional football career in Swaziland.

“A new place for them with new challenges to face, the boys are very excited and they will feature in the league this weekend,” said Proud.
