Raise funds for Caden
Many rugby players from Hoërskool Roodepoort are chosen to go to Ireland to play.
In April Caden Dalais was chosen to go to Ireland to play rugby.
He has been preparing for this tournament since 2019 and finally got the chance to showcase his talents.
About the achievement, Caden said he is excited and also nervous, but mostly he feels his hard work has paid off as he has been working for this opportunity for so long.

Caden also mentioned that the school has given them this opportunity but still believes it is their responsibility to take it further. He hopes going to Ireland will give him opportunities over there to make a name for himself.
“I am very proud of him, I am so proud of how he has managed to beat the odds, I am happy he has this opportunity,” said Caden’s mom, Avril Dalais.

According to Caden’s coach, Varno Rankoe, 13 boys are going to Ireland this year, it is the first time this amount of boys from Hoërskool Roodepoort has been chosen to go to Ireland.
Caden contributes his discipline to his coach who says he chooses to use fitness to teach the boys.
It’s about the exposure, being exposed to another country broadens your horizons, the world is bigger than Johannesburg and I think being at this stage in their lives there are real opportunities out there if you work… Thank you for the school and also for the exposure,” concluded Avril.
