Delfos prepare for Black Widow Junior T20 tournament
Delfos Cricket Club and Redeemed Cricket Academy play a friendly match in preparation for an upcoming tournament.
Delfos Cricket Club defeated Redeemed Cricket Academy by seven wickets, on July 8.
According to Faizel Sallie, chairperson for Delfos Cricket Club, it was a friendly U17 match at Delfos Main Oval, to prepare for the Black Widow Junior T20 tournament which will take place during three weekends from August 19 – September 3.
Faizel explained that Redeemed batted first and got 103 all out with the top scores earned by Njabula Mila and Luc Malherbe with 28 and 25, respectively. Delfos then batted second and beat Redeemed with seven wickets to spare.
“The Black Widow JNRT20 Tournament is a pre-season Junior Tournament for U9 to U17. This year will be the fifth edition of the tournament hosted by Delfos Cricket Club. We have over 55 teams participating and utilising over 10 venues. We are proud to be associated with Black Widow Johannesburg,” Sallie concluded.
