Gauteng's Strongest Man was held at Irish Rock and five of Roodepoort's strongmen placed in their divisions.
Eight athletes competed in Gauteng’s Strongest Man competition held at Irish Rock on July 8. Local strongman Terence Bosman (27) entered the opens category as Gauteng’s Strongest Man for 2022 and was determined to retain the title for the next year.
The following divisions were held; opens, under 105kg, under 90kg, under 80kg, and masters (over 40 years old).

Terence won Gauteng’s Strongest Man for the second year in a row with Frikkie Page placing first in the 105kg division. George Lopes placed first in the 90kg weight division, Markus Jansen van Vuuren placed first in the 80kg weight division and Joe Loubser won the masters division.

The events for the opens consisted of a 330kg axel deadlift for reps, 150kg log clean and press for reps, a 150kg atlas stone to shoulder for reps, a Conan’s wheel, and 160kg farmer’s walk per hand for time over 20minutes – with the lightweight division weights being more appropriate for them.
