KJK shines at SA Championships
Outstanding performance from KJK Judo Club at the SA Schools and Open Judo Championships.
Judoka from KJK Judo Club put on an outstanding performance at the SA Schools and Open Judo Championships, held earlier in July.
They returned home with an impressive haul of medals, bringing immense pride to their parents, coaches, and themselves.

The team took part in a variety of exciting events, including individual fights, kata, SA Open, SA Schools for Novices and advanced, and the SA Open Team event. They returned home with an impressive collection of medals, consisting of 15 gold medals, 11 silver, six bronze, and an impressive seven judoka who achieved fourth place overall.
Additionally, coach Reece-Hunter Erasmus, Shalyn van de Heever, and Niel Bruwer were selected to represent South Africa at the African Senior Kata Championships to be held in Mauritius at the beginning of September.

Katja Bruwer, the head coach of the academy, said she is very proud of all our judoka who competed.
“They all gave their best. Now we will start preparing for our higher belt gradings, and we will start building for next year’s national events. Our judoka who will be going to Mauritius are working very hard, preparing for that event.”
