Ebenezer hosts successful golf day
Golfers and supporters came together to raise funds for Ebenezer Psychiatric Home.
Nothing beats a community coming together and uniting for a good cause.
Ebenezer Psychiatric Home’s fourth annual golf day, held at Eagle Canyon Golf Estate, was a true shining example of that spirit in action.
The day, which took place on August 28, saw golfers, sponsors, and supporters come together, not only to enjoy a good day of golf but also to support and raise much-needed funds for Ebenezer. From early morning, the golfers were ready and steady, playing in teams with a great mix of serious rivalry and friendly banter.
Later in the evening, participants made their way to the prize-giving ceremony, where awards and prizes were handed out for different categories.
Ebenezer is a home located in Ham Street in Witpoortjie, and it houses fully functional adults suffering from severe mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

The residents are in a supportive and nurturing environment where carers, psychiatrists and social workers help them get through each day with exercise regimes, skills development, creative and practical workshops, and medical treatment.

Lee-Anne Lewis, the manager of the home, mentioned that it was a wonderful day, and the amount of support exceeded their expectation.
