Vision gymnasts triumph at nationals

Three talented gymnasts secure the top three spots at the SA National Gymnastics Championships.

The South Africa National Gymnastics Championships held at the National Training Centre in Eldoraigne served up a an exciting 11 days of high-flying talent, resilience, and unforgettable routines, as gymnasts took to the floor and left it all on the mat.

Muhammad Khaalid Mia, Sibahle Nkosi and Kaylin Smith, who represented Vision Gymnastics, gave an outstanding performance as they dazzled the crowd and judges after spending countless hours training and perfecting their routines.

In the men’s senior division, the crowd witnessed a commanding performance by the new national champion Muhammad, who delivered consistency and brilliance. He clinched the title of Men’s Senior Artistic All-Around National Champion, marking a significant milestone. His clean lines on parallel bars and explosive power on vault edged out a competitive field for him to secure a gold medal and additional national title.

Young rising star Sibahle also delivered standout performances, placing first in her floor performance and second on the bar, and she placed tenth overall in the Woman’s Artistic Gymnastics category (WAG). Another gymnast who left a strong impression was Kaylin, who finished an impressive second overall in her division.

Kaylin demonstrated strength and versatility across the apparatuses, earning second place on the beam and third on her vault performance. Her stellar all-around performance not only brought her a spot on the podium but also earned her a coveted place on the Senior Region 5 Team which will represent the nation, from December 7 to 14 in Windhoek, Namibia.

All three athletes demonstrated the heart of a true champion, securing the top three spots and cementing their names for future competitions.
