Local gymnastics club excels at championships

Vision Gymnastics made waves at the National Gymnastics Championships, earning over 100 medals.

Vision Gymnastics once again proved itself a powerhouse after an exceptional showing at the Artistic Women’s, Men’s and Rhythmic National Championships.

The competition was held earlier in October at the Gymnastics South Africa (SA) National Training Centre in Eldoraigne and the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Westville Campus.

With nearly 2 000 gymnasts from across the country competing, the club not only qualified to represent Gauteng Province but also returned home with an impressive medal haul.

According to head coach Adele Heine, Vision’s athletes brought home 10 overall gold medals in the National Senior Men’s Championship. Nine silver medallists also showcased outstanding performances, proving their commitment to excellence, while a further seven bronze medals were secured by the team.

The gymnasts also excelled in the apparatus events, earning 42 gold, 30 silver and 19 bronze individual apparatus medals.

“This success stems from a culture of hard work, dedication and, most importantly, fun in our gym. We are an exceptional team, and our love for the sport and for our gymnasts is the driving force behind every achievement,” says Adele.
