Equestrian centre gallops into Halloween

The Honeydew Equestrian Centre celebrated Halloween with a creative horseback fancy dress ride.

Horse and rider pairs brought colour and creativity to the Honeydew Equestrian Centre (HEC) on Friday, October 31, during the centre’s Horseback Trick or Treat and Fancy Dress Ride.

The event encouraged riders and their horses to dress up in imaginative outfits for a light-hearted group ride around the grounds. Costumes ranged from matching themes to playful designs, showcasing the strong bond and trust between horses and their riders.

Families, friends, and visitors gathered to enjoy the cheerful atmosphere as the riders rode around the grounds, collecting treats and sharing smiles. The event offered a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate their love of horses, and enjoy an afternoon of fun and friendship.

HEC head instructor Martinique van der Westhuizen said the day was a great success and expressed gratitude to everyone who helped make it happen. With such positive feedback, many hope to see the event return next year as a regular part of the HEC calendar.
