Young soccer star scores scholarship tour to US
The Florida Albion player is set to showcase his talent in Atlanta and needs help.
Jayden Titus’s (18) hard work and dedication for soccer has landed him an opportunity of a lifetime – a scholarship tour to Atlanta in the United States of America.
The tour is scheduled to take place in February, and the Florida Albion player is one of eight players selected to showcase their talents on the international stage.
Jayden has been playing soccer since the age of four, and this love quickly grew into a lifelong dream. He also has many accolades within the sport and was part of the U19 team that participated in the Gauteng Development Promotion League and had an opportunity to play in the 2025 Engen Knockout Challenge.
“This opportunity means a lot to me, as it brings me closer to achieving my dream of playing football professionally overseas,” he said.
This unique programme is aimed at nurturing young talent and promoting education both on and off the pitch. The initiative, which combines football and academics, is designed to identify and develop the skills of promising youngsters, with the ultimate goal of securing university scholarships and, potentially, a professional football career.
Participants will do training sessions and play matches, allowing them to demonstrate their skills and catch the eye of selectors.
“I have been faced with challenges in securing university placement locally due to limited space at South African institutions. Therefore, this international opportunity means far more than just football. It represents a chance for me to pursue higher education, broaden my horizons, and build a promising future,” he said.
Jayden has also started a Backabuddy account to raise funds for his travel, accommodation and training. Community members who wish to support his journey can visit his link for more information.
