Young riders excel at Sanesa qualifiers

Their performances drew attention from fellow competitors and spectators alike.

Trinityhouse Little Falls’ two young equestrians enjoyed a fantastic first South African National Equestrian Schools Association (Sanesa) Gauteng qualifier of the year last month, where they put their hard work and best horse riding skills on display.

Tyra Naidoo, riding Lord Nelson, had a strong showing across multiple events. She came first in In-hand Utility (Level 1), second in Prix Caprilli Test 1 (Novice), third in both Showjumping Horse (60cm) and Prix Caprilli Test 3 (Novice), and fifth in Working Riding (Level 3).

Mikayla Walls, with her horse Gummy-Berry, also achieved great results. She won first place in In-hand Utility (Level 2), Dressage Test 1 and Dressage Test 2 (Level 1, Prelim), and Equitation (Level 3). She earned second place in Working Riding (Level 3), Show Jumping 2 Phase (Level 1, 60cm), and Working Hunter (Level 1, 60cm).

“We are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and the fantastic results they achieved,” said the school’s head of marketing and admissions, Vinni Townsend, speaking on Mikayla and Tyra’s success.

The Sanesa qualifiers give young riders the chance to compete in dressage, showjumping, and utility events while learning good horsemanship. In addition to putting their skills on display, the competition also showed the support system that they have, from trainers to family and friends who stand by them through every training and competition.
