Florries young hurdler shines at SA Athletics
Laerskool Florida learner Bokang Nkabinde represented the province at the national event.
Laerskool Florida’s Bokang Nkabinde (Grade Six) has made waves in the athletics world, representing his province at the SA Athletics Competition in Cape Town from March 19–21.
Competing against top athletes in the country, Bokang delivered impressive performances in the 75m and 150m hurdles, finishing ninth in the 75m event – a remarkable achievement for his age.

Bokang only started hurdling last year, and in the beginning, he struggled, finding the event very challenging.
However, through hard work, discipline, and dedication, he improved tremendously.

“I’m incredibly proud of this young boy.
“It wasn’t easy, but he never gave up, and today he stands as an SA athlete. I believe his dedication, discipline and hunger will get him far,” said his coach Diwan Britz.
Bokang’s goal is to continue pushing himself to ultimately be a SA champion.
