Alleged brake failure leads to three-vehicle collision on Doreen Road

Emergency services responded after a crash at a busy Amorosa intersection caused traffic delays on July 17.

A three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Doreen and Lawrence roads caused traffic congestion on the afternoon of July 17 after a Hyundai Atos allegedly suffered brake failure.

According to minibus taxi driver Nobert Chauke, he was stationary at the traffic light on Doreen Road when the collision occurred.

“I was standing at the traffic light when the Hyundai Atos travelling down Doreen Road crashed into the right front side of my taxi,” Chauke said.

“I was driving down the road and I tried to brake, but my brakes failed. That’s when I hit the first car that was also travelling down and then hit the taxi afterwards,” Khoza said.
