Craighall pupils help Ronnie Recycler

CRAIGHALL PARK - CRAIGHALL Primary School is fully on board with recycling initiatives and hopes to be one of the schools making an impact on their community.

Mpact Recycling, formerly known as Mondi Recycling, is South Africa’s biggest paper recycler.

The company has put in place paper pick-up programmes which allows schools to raise funds while simultaneously educating children on environmental awareness.

Late last year, Mpact ran the Yellow Pages Telephone Recycling Drive. Part of the incentive was that the school which brought in the largest tonnage of recyclable paper would win a grand prize of resources to the value of R10 000 that would go toward the school’s needs.

While not winning the grand prize, Craighall Primary School came in a very worthy third, with a total of 1.795 tonnes collected.

The class that brought in the most amount of directories for recycling were also awarded prizes by Mpact. Grade 5 Goodwill at the school came out tops in that category of the competition.
