King Edwards VII School opens new science pavilion and labs

HOUGHTON - KING Edward VII School celebrated the opening of a new science pavilion and science laboratories which had been renovated.

It was a long-awaited occasion for the school and for the pupils in particular. Guests were entertained by the school’s Scottish pipe band and choir, and were welcomed by the headmaster David Lovatt.

“The Victor Daitz Foundation and the Edgar Droste Trust, both founded by philanthropic King Edward old boys prior to their passing, ensured the well-being of the physical sciences at the school,” said the school’s director of communications and public relations, Lisa Slooten.

She added that funds from the foundation and trust contributed to the upgrade of three legacy science laboratories, and to the construction of the new science pavilion.

Chairman of the Victor Daitz Foundation, Sam Abrahams was on hand to cut the ribbon and declare the new pavilion and laboratories open.
