“Unlike last year when we had 100 percent pass rate, this year we, unfortunately, had one student who failed, so our pass rate this year dropped to 99.5 percent,” said headmaster David Lovatt.
“But 83 percent of our matrics did qualify for Bachelor Degree entrance. This year we’ll strive to make it 90 percent.”
Lovatt also made mention of pupils who exceeded all expectations with their results, saying they should also be praised for their astounding work, not only the top achievers.
Spokesperson of the school, Lisa Slooten was kept very busy on the morning the results were released, keeping track of the various distinctions while congratulating pupils proudly.
Slooten said 98 percent of the matric group qualified for access to tertiary education and had a total number of 270 distinctions among them.
