Old Eds conquer Comrades
The Comrades Marathon may be over, although there were more aches and pains seeing as this year was the 'down run', which is reputed to be harder on the body than the 'up run'.

Sixteen Old Eds runners completed the race of just over 89km, with Sean Doherty being the first club man across the finishing line in 8:03:58.
Doherty has his sights set on a 100km race in Belgium later this year, so this was a good run for him to do in preparation.
Mark Visser just beat the nine-hour mark clocking 8:57:19; there was quite a gap before Jason Grobler finished in 9:50:34.
Judy Maher was the first Old Eds woman home, clocking 10:25:55, with another two women next in as Linda Icely and Meryl Rahme finished together in 10:50:29. Icely was seventh overall in the Grand Master category.
Mark Daws was just behind them, finishing in 10:56:07, with Tim Johnston clocking 11:25:48, finishing with Russell Harris who was just another second behind.
Greg Bortz led a group of Old Eds runners home inside the 12-hour mark finishing in 11:44:19, with Paul Howes a further six minutes back. Close behind him were Matthew Spooner and Andrew Steer (both 11:52:55), along with the husband and wife combo of Trini and Kerry Lopes who clocked 11:53:41.
