Danny the Bryanston parkrun Pomeranian

Bryanston holds a lot of beauty, and Danny the Pomeranian is one of the community’s best features.

Bryanston’s weekly parkrun hosts not only men, women and children but also some of the friendliest, human-loving canines one could ever hope to meet.

Danny the Pomeranian was no exception to the trend, as he perked up welcomingly when he was approached in the company of his keeper Louise Krog.

“He’s turning five years on March 29,” Krog said jovially, happy to be sharing her beautiful companion.

Without hesitation, Danny waddled over to be loved, while Krog shared the story of how she came to have such an adorable friend.

“My daughter got Danny,” said Krog. “She has immigrated to New Zealand, and Danny is now staying with us here in Joburg. Danny has been with me for about a year and a half.”

It’s not uncommon for beautiful dogs to have wardrobes fitting their personalities and Danny is no exception but Krog explained that he’s not the biggest fan of clothes.

“He wears clothes for only a couple of minutes, but he doesn’t like it,” said Krog. “He’s got a couple, but he gets a bit hot in them because his fur is quite big.”

Danny leads a laid-back, easy lifestyle in Johannesburg. His most cherished pastimes include snack time and sleeping. Danny’s favourite snacks are chicken biltong strips.

“He’s a very relaxed, non-fuss, and calm dog”, Krog concluded. “He just goes wherever we go. As long as he’s with us, he’s okay.”
