According to Tiya, her journey in gymnastics began at the age of six, inspired by her love for monkey bars at the local park.
“Gymnastics has always felt exciting to me, and I have since taken it seriously while having so much fun.”
Tiya said she had faced significant challenges, particularly the mental and emotional strain of balancing her love for gymnastics, school, and social life.
“Last year, I found myself dreading gymnastics. I had to take time off to focus on myself and communicate my feelings to my mom and coaches.”
She explained that talking about everything helped her love for the sport again.
“I train from Monday to Friday and juggle late nights and homework with my gym schedule.”

She elaborated that often she falls behind on schoolwork but reminds herself of how far she has come.
“The love I have for gymnastics keeps me motivated. Each training session is a fresh start, and I try to focus on positives rather than past mistakes.”
Competing in the gym games was nerve-wracking but Tiya learned to embrace the journey.
“Even when I fell during my floor routine, I finished strong. I realised how much I have grown.”
Her goal moving forward is to aim for the top 10 while also finding joy in the sport.
Tiya credits her success to a strong support system.
“My mom, sister, friends, and coaches have always been there for me. They have helped me through the highs and lows.”
As she plans for the future, Tiya encourages younger gymnasts.
“Make sure gymnastics remains your passion, not a chore. Enjoy your youth and do not hesitate to take breaks.”
