Bryanston Parallel Medium School says goodbye to the Grade 7s

Emotions ran high as learners, parents, and teachers gathered at the annual Clock Ceremony, marking the transition from primary school to the exciting world of high school.

The Bryanston Parallel Medium School’s (BPMS) annual Grade 7 Clock Ceremony brought together teachers, learners, and parents in a celebration that marked the end of a primary school journey in the lives of the graduating class.

The school community gathered to commemorate this important milestone on November 29, filled with emotion, excitement, and a profound sense of achievement.

The school principal Ilse du Preez said this cherished tradition not only recognised the conclusion of the primary school journey but also showcased the growth and accomplishments of the learners as they prepared to embrace the challenges of high school.

The event created a warm, festive atmosphere as inspirational speeches, heartfelt messages, and moments of reflection united everyone present in a shared moment of celebration.

“Today’s ceremony is a beautiful reminder of how far our Grade 7 learners have come,” she said. “The presentation of clocks is particularly special; it symbolises not just the passage of time but the invaluable experiences and lessons learned during their primary years.

“As they stand on the brink of high school, I have every confidence they will embrace the upcoming challenges with the same spirit and determination they have shown here at BPMS,” she added.

The symbolic presentation of clocks during the ceremony served to remind the learners of the importance of every moment in their journeys ahead.

With each ticking second, they are urged to treasure the memories made and the friendships formed during their time at the school.

“This day is filled with mixed emotions; pride for what they have accomplished, gratitude towards the educators and families who supported them, and a touch of nostalgia as we bid farewell to this remarkable group of learners.

As the BPMS family said their goodbyes to the Grade 7s, the atmosphere was one of encouragement and hope for the future.
