TikTok Awards 2024 shine spotlight on Africa’s digital creators in Sandton
Celebrating creativity and culture, the TikTok Awards 2024 recognised the best entertainment, sports, fashion, food, travel, and more creators across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The TikTok Awards 2024 celebrated the most influential creators across Sub-Saharan Africa in a spectacular event held on February 8 at The Galleria in Eastgate, Sandton.
The evening was filled with entertainment, recognition, and digital creativity, bringing together the region’s top TikTok stars.
Among the night’s biggest winners was Nigeria’s Anyanwu Chioma, who took home the coveted Creator of the Year award.

Her captivating content, especially her deep dives into movies and entertainment, has earned her over 500 000 followers.
The Breakthrough Artist of the Year award went to Nigerian trio Sopuru Precious Odunze, Favour Ekah Ernest, and Agubosim Favour Brown, whose Afrobeats-inspired tracks have made waves across global music platforms.

Tanzania’s Fanuel Johnson Masamaki, with over 12 million followers, won Sports Creator of the Year, while Kenya’s Eugene Kamara was named Food Creator of the Year for his irresistible African recipes.
Other notable winners included South Africa’s Carlinn Meyer, who was crowned Travel Creator of the Year, Siyanda Bani, who won Fashion Creator of the Year, and Simphiwe Mbatha, who won Beauty Creator of The Year.
The event also recognised the contributions of Charity Ekezie, who took home the TikTok for Good award for using comedy and satire to challenge misconceptions about Africa.
