City of Jo’burg to present 2025/2026 Budget Speech

The City of Johannesburg’s Member of the Mayoral Committee responsible for Finance, Councillor Margaret Arnolds, will deliver the Budget Speech for the 2025/2026 financial year, as delegated by Executive Mayor Councillor Dada Morero.

This year’s Budget theme is “A Financially Sustainable Joburg.” The Budget Speech will detail the City’s key plans, programmes, and priorities aimed at enhancing service delivery to residents and stakeholders.

Members of the media are invited to attend the Budget Speech and the Budget debate, scheduled as follows:

 Date: Thursday, 29 May 2025

Time: 12:00

Venue for both meetings: Constance Conny Bapela Council Chamber, Metropolitan Centre, Braamfontein

Both meetings will be live streamed across the City’s social media platforms. Media and the public are encouraged to follow the proceedings via:

Please note: To ensure smooth event operations and adherence to Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JOC) security protocols, access will be limited, and security measures will be heightened.
