Upon arrival, guests were greeted by the delicious waft of a variety of foods. This smell led patrons to the densely populated school hall, transformed into an exhibition space hosting a variety of take-homes calling to be purchased.

The alluring calls from the variety of items on display at the various stalls only intensified when patrons left the hall, only to find themselves in a second quad dedicated to the well-attended market.

Celebrating how this was the 11th year in which the school hosted the market, event organiser Debbie Bartlett praised how the market had expanded from a few stalls on the school’s fields to what it is now, and was slowly growing into a more intimate experience, since those formative years.

“We found it was a little bit too sparse out in the field, so bringing it into the quad and hall has brought people closer together,” Bartlett reflected.

Bartlett concluded with an encouraging note on where the Christmas market is heading over the coming years.

“We have never had a Santa,” Bartlett said. “We discussed it a while back, and we’ve decided that we will have a Santa next year, and we’ll try to have more of a kid’s corner – where we do something specifically for children, like jumping castles, and face painting.”
