Redhill teen speeds to victory at Zwartkops endurance race
15-year-old motorsport rising star Josh du Toit teamed up with dad, Mark, to finish strong in a gruelling test of skill and stamina.
At just 15 years old, Redhill School learner Josh du Toit is already turning heads on the South African motorsport circuit.
The Grade 9 learner took part in the gruelling Zwartkops 200km Endurance Race on May 17, emerging not only as a serious competitor, but as a class winner.
Josh, racing a 1,600cc Honda Civic in the SuperHatch Series, competed in the 84-lap endurance event at Zwartkops Raceway alongside his father, experienced driver Mark du Toit.

The father-son duo finished an impressive 13th overall, out of 35 competing teams, clinching first place in the SuperHatch Class B.
“It was tough, but incredibly rewarding,” said Josh. “Driving with my dad made it even more special. He’s my mentor, on and off the track.”
The Zwartkops 200 is a major fixture in the local racing calendar, testing not only speed but endurance, strategy, and teamwork. For Josh, it was his biggest challenge yet – and one he passed with flying colours.

Josh has been steadily rising through the ranks in the SuperHatch Series, earning a reputation for consistency, focus, and raw talent.
Redhill School congratulated the young racer on his outstanding achievement. “We are immensely proud of Josh. Balancing school and racing is no easy feat, and he’s doing both with dedication and excellence,” said Joseph Gerassi, the executive head of Redhill School.
