Watch: Fun run paints Benmore Streets red

Hundreds of runners, including school learners, staff, and parents, gathered at Crawford International College Sandton for the highly anticipated annual fun run.

Attracting hundreds of enthusiastic participants on Saturday morning, Crawford International College Sandton’s annual fun run took place in the heart of the Benmore community.

Students, staff, and parents alike came together for a vibrant, spirited event that saw the streets of Benmore painted red with runners in high spirits.

The event offered participants the choice of a more competitive 5km race or a laid-back 2.5km stroll, with both routes starting and finishing at the college grounds.
Whether sprinting, walking, or strolling, everyone enjoyed the perfect start to spring, with fresh air and plenty of smiles.

Principal Tracey Purkiss addressed the crowd with infectious enthusiasm. “We’re gathered here this morning for our annual fun run. An event that brings us together as a community. This is not just about the race; it’s about building bonds, enjoying each other’s company, and celebrating the start of spring. Whether you’re running the 5km race or taking a stroll on the 2.5km teddy run, we’re here as a family, getting active and supporting one another.”

Participants of all ages joined in the fun, with families and friends cheering each other on from the sidelines, highlighting the college’s focus on community building, encouraging healthy lifestyles and fostering a sense of belonging.
