Masondo re-elected as ELFA chairperson

People have expressed mixed feelings about this new leadership change.

SEDIBENG.- Mfanafuthi Masondo has been re-elected as the Chairperson of the Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA).

He and his new executive committee members will lead the association for the next four years.

This election had to be held a second time because SAFA Sedibeng declared the July 19 elections null and void. SAFA Sedibeng ordered these re-elections because the previously elected committee failed to meet proper constitutional requirements.

The new elective congress has now taken place.

While awaiting the new congress, the old executive committee led by Jabu Mgcina remained in power. The new elective congress has now taken place, resulting in Masondo securing his position alongside Junior Gusha, who is his first deputy.

This transition means that Jabu Mgcina and his previous committee have finally been voted out of power after several years. People have expressed mixed feelings about this new leadership change, with some believing it is positive for football while others worry about a lack of balance of power within the new team.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Masondo stated that he is fully ready to transform football in Emfuleni. He expressed strong confidence that his new executive committee has what it takes to guide this troublesome association to the next level.

Masondo also emphasised to the publication that changes within ELFA were completely necessary.

He added that he is confident they will change the landscape of football in Emfuleni and remain deeply committed to improving the sport.
