A 42-year-old man was injured this morning after his bakkie rolled multiple times on the N1 southbound highway near the Kroon toll plaza in Sasolburg.

ER24 paramedics, along with traffic authorities, arrived on the scene and found a badly wrecked bakkie lying on the side of the road.

Contents from the bakkie, namely fruits and vegetables were spread across the highway or at least 300 metres.

Paramedics assessed the lone occupant, found seated next to his vehicle and found that he had escaped the incident with only moderate injuries.

Paramedics treated the man and transported him to Sasolburg Provincial Hospital for further treatment.

The road was closed for some time so that highway services could remove the fruit and vegetables could be removed from the road.

An investigation will be conducted by local authorities.
