Mediclinic hospital becomes a hotspot for criminals

VEREENIGING. - Mediclinic hospital in Joubert street is becoming a crime hotspot. This is according to Vereeniging Police Spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda.

Funda confirms that several cases have been reported. “Cars get broken into after the owners have parked them to visit loved ones in the hospital.”

Funda further states that a total of 22 people have been arrested for various crimes. “Four people were arrested for shoplifting, one for possession of drugs, three for drunken driving, one for house break-in,seven for assault, two for house robbery, one for robbery with a weapon, one for possession of counterfeit money, one for common robbery and one for possession of suspected stolen property.”

Funda adds that all the arrested people will appear in the Vereeniging magistrate court soon.
