VANDERBIJLPARK. – The Democratic Alliance (DA) spokesperson Khune Ramulifho MPL, said Kingsol Chabalala DA Gauteng MPL who was shot three times outside his house last week, is recovering in an undisclosed hospital. “He feels much better, positive and ready to hit the ground. Kingsol cannot wait to continue his duties.”

Chabalala was shot three times when he was about to open the gate to his home in Vanderbijlpark recently. Police said he was approached by two unknown armed males. The incident happened at around 20:25. Police reported that the suspects took only a cellphone and left him in a pool of blood. A weekend newspaper reported that an amount of R9 000 that he was carrying was left untouched.

Currently the police have made no arrests. Chabalala has been vocal and instrumental in uncovering alleged widespread corruption and the lack of service delivery in the Emfuleni Local Municipality.
