De Deur killer animal still on the loose after killing three

Lephoto said that on 10 October, police were called to the scene in De Deur where a body that had been mauled by an unknown creature was found. Following the incident, two more bodies were discovered.

De-Deur. – Police Spokesperson Captain Teboho Lephoto has urged members of De Deur community and surrounding areas to take safety precautions following the death of three men who were allegedly killed by a wild animal, adding that the animal could still be out there.

Lephoto said that on 10 October, police were called to the scene in De Deur where a body that had been mauled by an unknown creature was found. Following the incident, two more bodies were discovered.

“Our preliminary investigations showed that  all three men had been killed using the same modus operandi.”Lephoto says that a post moterm confirmed that the wounds found on the three bodies were that of a wild animal, although it has not been said which animal it is.

“Community members are urged to  take precautions when travelling in the area and travel in groups especially at night as it is still dangerous.  We will brief the community regarding the developments, but until the animal has been found , people are urged to be vigilant. An inquest has been launched and investigations are ongoing.”
