VEREENIGING. – October 1 saw the launch of Star Tech Group, a formidable new force in the Vaal Triangle’s IT industry and currently the biggest of its kind in the Vaal region. It is an affiliate of the Star Motor Group.
Star Tech, with its head office in Vereeniging, was established as the result of a merger of AK Consulting and Oc2Tech Solutions, two Vaal companies with a combined operational period of 24 years, thereby providing the IT industry with comprehensive, professional and ethical IT support and solutions that combine all layers of the Information Communications Technology Industry.
Star Tech Group was initially concepted for the further development and support of StarData, a comprehensive software workflow programme developed by software expert Andrew Kiddle, director of AK Consulting, for Edwin Strauss, Dealer Principal of Star Nissan Vereeniging, who is also director of the Star Motor Group.
Recognizing the need for technical and consulting support, Oc2Tech Solutions, owned and run by Rohan Ellis, was also brought into the Star Tech concept. Andrew, Rohan and Edwin are the three directors of the newly formed Star Tech.
It provides support with Managed Service and Service Level Agreements to small and medium enterprises. It also provides packages for all ICT services required by a company – from servers and computers to IT support, networking, Consulting Internet, email, websites, VoIP and CCTV, as well as services such as access control and many more.
“Our aim is to provide infrastructure and support for all aspects of business information requirements. We are a versatile company and strive to be an unequalled ‘one stop company’ to save our clients the hassle of having to involve many different service providers in the IT field. We’re not here to make a quick buck but to build long term relationships with our clients,” says Andrew.
Star Tech’s ability to integrate existing systems and processes offers holistic solutions to current and future business challenges. “This expertise has already been noticed far beyond the Vaal’s borders. Apart from Johannesburg and Centurion, our client base already extends to towns and cities like Cape Town, Durban, Secunda, Middelburg and Ellisras,” says Rohan.
According to Edwin Strauss the original StarData software system created for Star Nissan Vereeniging, has in recent years played a major role in his dealership’s excellent performance and his company’s numerous national awards. This system has now even attracted interest on an international level from Mauritius and Japan.
