Pedestrian left critical in collision

EVATON. – A 28-year-old man was left critically injured this afternoon when he was struck by a light motor vehicle on the Golden Highway in Evaton.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 12h10 to find the man lying on the side of the road while the light motor vehicle in question was found a short distance away.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition.

“The man was treated for his injuries and was provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to Sebokeng Provincial Hospital for further care,” said Russel Meiring in a statement.

The driver of the light motor vehicle escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
