Rich and poor suffer Covid-19 differently

“We have not seen the inside of an airplane, yet we are the ones that are suffering.”

SEDIBENG. – The massive increase of prices has become a new way of profiteering in these times of death and misery following the spread of Covid-19

Residents are complaining that the sale of masks, gloves and hand sanitizers has risen to astronomical proportions. “We have not seen the inside of an airplane, yet we are the ones that are suffering,” they said.

One of the community members, a recycler, remarked that rich people can afford to travel by air to the best medical treatment facilities and that they cannot (the poor).

“They are the very people who brought Covid 19 to SA.”

The homeless people said they are especially in danger, as they sleep out on the streets, often too close together and that nothing is being done in the area to provide them with shelter. Prostitutes are also complaining that business is nonexistent.

In danger are also those who live in congested squatters camps in the area.
