SHARPEVILLE.- Mighty Blues Burial Club hosted a closing party in Rooisten, Sharpeville over the weekend.
The event marked the end of 2020 which the members regard as a terrible year due to COVID-19.
Mighty Blues Burial Club was established in 2014 with the main aim being to help ex-professional football players and give them a decent burial. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, the club Chairman, Wonder Molefe said that they established this burial club after they realised that most of ex-professional players don’t get a decent send off after they die.
“Everyone ex-professional is welcome to join this burial club. We want to help as much as we can, to give them a respectful funeral. We all know that when ex-professionals pass away some of their families struggle to give them a decent funeral. As Mighty Blues Burial Club we are here for them,” he concluded.
