Rakhale and Monyamane elevate Sedibeng
"For us when we started it was not only about football but we were also eager to get education."
SEDIBENG.- Thabo Rakhale and Thabo Monyamane hoisted the Sedibeng flag high when these two helped their club Tshakhuma Tsa Madzivhandila (TTM) to lift the Nedbank Cup trophy over the weekend.
This was after they beat fellow relegation candidates Chippa United 1-0 in an exciting final played in the empty Free State Stadium on Saturday evening.
Rakhale and Monyamane who grew up playing football in the dusty streets of Sebokeng had a great game for TTM over the weekend and their hard work was rewarded with a win.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, the two said each game they play they dedicated to all the youngsters whose ambition is to play professional football from Sedibeng.
The two told Sedibeng Ster Sport that they will never forget the community that they come from.
“Whenever we play, we think of the youngsters who dream to be professional players like us, and winning the Nedbank Cup with the club will remain the highlight of our football career especially with a team that is fighting relegation. This shows that anything is possible in football especially if you believe in your talent. We want to say to all the youngsters there in Sedibeng that hard work and education are the most important thing in life. For us when we started it was not only about football but we were also eager to get education because we all know that football is a short-term career,” they told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
