VEREENIGING.- One person was killed, and four others sustained minor injuries when the vehicle they travelled in overturned and landed on a palisade fence along R42 Barrage Road near Rand Water on Saturday evening.

When paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene, they found a man lying a few meters away from the vehicle. Sadly, paramedics could do nothing for him, and he was declared dead on the scene. Four others were helped out of the car by bystanders before paramedics’ arrival on the scene.

Three men and a woman were treated on the scene and transported to Mediclinic Vereeniging and Kopanong Hospital.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene.
