GBV campaign held by De Deur SAPS

De Deur SAPS Social Crime Coordinator Warrant Officer Tshegofatso Maliehe in partnership with De Deur Saps Brigades, Women as Safety Promoters, Men as Safety Promoters, Intsika Yethu Organization and CPF Sub-Forum held a Gender-Based Violence (GBV) awareness campaign in Tshepong.

DE DEUR. – Police Spokesperson Constable Maria Letsele says: “The main focus was to inform and educate both men and women in Tshepong around issues of gender-based violence which affect the community at large.”

Letsele said that most GBV and domestic violence cases reported result in murder and assault.

“Cases of violence are reported in different Sectors of the De Deur area, and as a result, the members are providing information as well as listening to the challenges around GBV and also to have a plan of action on how to reduce such cases around De Deur.”

Letsele says the event which was held on the last week of 16 Days of Activism for no Violence against Women and Children was a success.
