ELM: No promises, but committed to change

The new ELM administration requested a meeting with ERPA recently and bad service delivery was one of the hot topics as ERPA wanted to know what will be the difference between the new administration and that of the administrations of the last 28 years

The short answer from EM Radebe was that he is not making promises but will make commitments. MMC Hassan committed to establish a dispute committee within a month.

ERPA and ELM members who attended the meeting.

MMC Jonas committed to get the refuse service on par before the 15th of February 2022 for Ward 4 as a kick off and then follow through with the other wards.

MMC Vincent committed to get the technical advisory committee established with members from the ratepayers.

This will proof their willingness to work with the ratepayers which was not a priority of the previous administration.

“It all remains to be seen and the ratepayers will be actively applying pressure to keep all ELM staff accountable,” ERPA stated.
