Matsie Steyn holds awards
As a token of appreciation, Nhlapo gave all girl children sanitary pads and all boy children soap and tooth brush for a good representation of the school.

SHARPEVILLE.- It was a lovely day at Matsie Steyn Primary School as they hosted the 2021 School Grade 7 award ceremony over the weekend.

This is after it was cancelled early December last year by the DBE due to Covid-19 regulations, preventing schools from hosting events. All the children came in their current secondary school uniforms as a sign of progress from their primary education. The awards categories had sports awards and academic divisions. The children were joined by the former Bafana Bafana player and Banyana Banyana Coach Augustine Makalakalane and Nolwandle Utloa, Deputy Chief Education Specialist, School Sports Sedibeng East Education.

The awards were handed out by both to the top achievers. The highlight of the day was the Academic awards where the top ten learners had more than 5 distinctions. Khabonina Basele was number one after she received nine distinctions from all her subjects. Principal, Majane Nhlapo said that she was proud of the children and promised parents that she would do a follow up on the students progress in their different Secondary Schools where they are attending now. As a token of appreciation, Nhlapo gave all girl children sanitary pads and all boy children soap and tooth brush for a good representation of the school.
