SEBOKENG.- Vaal Milano FC caused an upset when they beat Stream A top of the log Boipatong FC in the Safa Sedibeng SAB League at Boitumelo Sports Ground over the weekend.

This was the first defeat for Boipatong FC since the season started. It was a huge upset for Boipatong FC who looked like they were in control at the top of the log until the weekend. This result leaves VUT FC at the top of the log after they beat their neighbours Metro Stars FC 5-1 at Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark over the weekend.

‘The Students’ are now at the summit of the log with 18 points from seven games. They were like a house on fire when they beat Metro Stars 5-1 over the weekend to stay in touch with the league race. In fact, VUT FC is back to where they were at this time of the season last year. However, they must thank Vaal Milano FC for doing them a huge favour by beating Boipatong FC for them to leap frog to the top of the log standing.   In Stream B, Perfect Academy are still at the summit of the stream after they played to a goalless draw against Mmabatho at NWU Vaal Campus over the weekend. These were positive results for Perfect Academy taking into consideration that they played away from home. It is interesting development in both streams with every team standing a chance to win the league title at the end of the season looking at the gap between the top teams and from position five. This is a competitive season especially for the teams at the top compared to last season. It is a close contest for all the teams who are in the top five brackets. Also in Stream B, Perfect Academy and Real Hearts FC are separated by one point with Real Hearts FC having a game in hand and it is going to be very interesting when these two meet in their next fixture. Ghetto Seven FC are a dark horse, having started the season on a lower note and now they have started picking up maximum points. They are second on the Stream B log standings with 14 points from seven games.
